#Beautyeverwhere

About 10 years or so ago, I adopted my first greyhound. Several times a day, Ibis and I would wander around the neighborhood, leash and dog bags in one hand, iphone in the other. I was living through one of the most difficult seasons of my life—my younger sister Ingrid was dying. To say that I was devastated is an understatement. This wasn’t supposed to happen, I was supposed to be able to protect her for eternity.

Through the darkness, I was blessed with a mind that continued to see beauty everywhere. I started taking photos on our walks and posting them on Instagram with the hashtag Beauty Everywhere. As the technology improved, so have the quality of my pictures. I notice details. Butterflies stop for me so that I can take their pictures. I capture light.

To this day, and with another greyhound–Misa–I continue to stop for a photo opp.
