I’ve Said Yes a Lot: A Collection of Stories

This is my working title, I really have no idea what to call it at this juncture. I know that just calling it a memoir feels a little pretentions to me. Let’s just say that it’s a collection of stories: stories of yes, of adventures, of challenges, of curiosity. I’ve been encouraged on numberous occasions by different people that I should write about my life. The short of it is that I’m a French woman born in Lebanon to a French dad and Mediterranean mom. I was about 6 when the civil war broke out and we escaped by cargo ship to eventually settle in the San Francisco Bay Area via a 9 month stay in Cyprus. And that’s just the beginning.

Welcome to an assortment of random chapters written as they come to me. They really write themselves. My hour-long walk with my 11 year-old greyound, Misa, is often when the stories come to me and start to take form. Words are amazing and beautiful, and I love putting them together. I’ve been writing since I was twelve when I got an A++++ for my poem, Flying Forever, Forever Free, to my mortification in 7th grade English taught by Mr. Paluzzi. That day changed my life forever.
